About Canberra Christian School
Starting school — or moving your child into a new one — is a big decision, and we know the transition isn’t always easy. At Canberra Christian School, we’ve spent over 50 years helping families through exactly this moment: calm, supported, and never rushed.
Whatever stage your child is at, there’s a place for them here. Our Early Learning Centre gives your youngest learners a warm, play-based introduction to school life from age two.
Our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindy programs build the confidence and readiness your child needs for a smooth start. And to help every family prepare — whichever pathway you choose — we’ve put together a free, practical guide to the skills that matter most before school begins.

A Learning Journey Built Around Your Child
Our school is founded on a tailored approach to learning, one that recognises every child learns at their own pace. We follow the Australian Curriculum, and our dedicated staff assess each student’s needs so we can design individual programs that unlock their full potential — across every subject.
Children are placed according to their learning outcomes, not simply their age, keeping engagement high and challenge just right. Inclusivity sits at the heart of everything we do, backed by genuine care, guidance and support.
We believe every child has the capacity to exceed their own expectations — and our results reflect it. For children with additional needs, we offer in-class support and a successful intensive small-group program, working closely with families so every child can thrive, at school and at home.
Early Learning Centre — Ages 2 to 4
Our Early Learning Centre is a haven for active young minds and busy bodies, in an engaging play-based environment. Established in 2014, the ELC takes a bespoke approach to early childhood education, built around curiosity and exploration for our littlest learners.
Qualified Early Childhood teachers — supported by a dedicated team of assistants — ensure every child’s developmental journey is met with genuine care and attention. The ELC is fully integrated into our wider school community, so your child grows up part of CCS long before they start “big school.”
Operating five days a week, 8am–6pm.
Pre-Kindergarten — The Perfect Pathway
Our Pre-Kindergarten program prepares your four-year-old for learning and a smooth transition into primary school. It blends structured learning with the exploration and discovery four-year-olds naturally love — delivered by our warm, dedicated Christian teaching staff.
Flexible hours from 7:30am–6pm mean Pre-K students benefit from classroom-based instruction and integrated ELC activities, plus regular interaction with older students and school-wide events — a comfortable, seamless introduction to the wider CCS community.
Primary Education — Where Every Child Can Thrive
Our dedicated team of Christian educators create a vibrant, caring Primary School environment where every student can thrive. Our curriculum goes beyond the essentials, with specialist subjects and unique learning opportunities tailored to each child.
Throughout the primary years, we live out the values at the heart of our Christian faith: excellence, compassion, humility, respectfulness, integrity, justice, discernment, responsibility and hope. These aren’t just taught — they’re practised daily, shaping students into compassionate, responsible, resilient people ready to make a positive impact on the world.
